I'm back now!

I got home Sunday night around 8:30. We made sure to stop at Popeye's on the way home so budman could get his fix. It's his favorite.

We arrived at the airport at 4:00 am on the 7th for our flight at 7:15. We stood in front of the US Airways counter for around 45 minutes. Not because there was a line, because there wasn't. We were watching the not nice lady who was going to check us in set up the ropes before the chaos started. There were maybe 7 people there waiting, I would hardly call that chaos. But what could we do? So we stood there and waited, when she was finally done, she went into the back and I watched as she made coffee and heated up her breakfast in the microwave. Then I watched her take it out of the microwave, fine a plate and went into another room where I couldn't see her and I know she was eating. She took her sweet old time too. Then she came out to the counter, and started doing something on the computer, then she went in the back again where I watched her get another cup of coffee and stand back there looking at the clock and drinking her coffee. By the time she finally was ready to check us in, it was 4:50 am. We were told we had to be there 3 hours early and when I am told to be at the airport to check in by 4:15 am, I expect to be checked in by 4:15 am. I hate her.

So we finally get checked in and it's off to security. There was a big line, but it moved very quickly. There was a sign that said to empty your pockets and take off all your jewelry. Budman said I didn't have to, but I wasn't taking any chances, so I took out all 9 of my earrings, took off all my rings and my necklace and placed them neatly in the little plastic bag provided. Budman emptied his pockets. By the time we were done doing all that, it was out turn, so we took our shoes off and put our carry on bags on the little conveyer. Budman was the first to walk through and of course the detector went off. "OOPS, I forgot to take off my belt" he said. He took off his belt and went through again. It went off again. I looked at him and pointed at his ring, he gave it to me and went through again. It went off again so he was banished to the pat down area where he discovered he had his cigarettes in his pocket. I was just laughing at him. I went through with no problem. When I went to pick up our stuff while I was waiting for my man to be molested by the security, this lady, who must have not had coffee yet held up the lap top bag and asked who's it was. I said "It's mine" to which she shot me a look of death. "You didn't take the lap top out of the bad and now I have to do all these tests on it and run it through again" I said "I'm sorry I didn't know I had to take it out", "Didn't you see the like 10 TV screens out there telling you that?", "No, I was to busy getting naked to walk through the metal detector to notice the TV, again, I'm sorry", "Well, there are like 10 of them". I just sat down and waited for her to run "all those tests" which consisted of rubbing the inside of the bad with a little round cloth and running it back through. Meanwhile, Budman was still waiting to get patted down and I was laughing at him. Then, I went to get my laptop back and I heard the guy tell her the TV's weren't' on. I just looked at her and smiled, said thank you, and sat down to wait again.

Budman was finally free to go and we walked to our gate, to see where it was and then we went to find the smoking area. It was this little tiny room not far from our gate, so we sat there and chain smoked for about the next two hours, then we went and got on our plane.

Once we were on the plane, I remembered that I was terrified of flying, so I started getting nervous, even more so when I realized I had a window seat. I sat down and shut the blind thingy. Budman asked me to open it so he could watch, so I did. I was sitting there, not wanting to freak out and I realized that if it's my time, there is nothing I can do about it, so I prayed. And that my friends, calmed me right down. I almost started crying when we were taking off, but I prayed again and I was OK. That is when I decided to pray at the beginning of each flight.

So we arrived at Charlotte with 3 hours to spare, so we found a place to smoke and in we went. This time it was a restaurant. We were still trying to figure out who won the race the night before because we both fell asleep before it was over. We knew that Jr finished well because he had moved up in points, that much we saw before we left the house. Right as we were getting ready to play a round of Golden Tee, I looked at the TV and there he was in all his glory, on top of the car getting showered with the nectar of the gods! JR WON!!! What a great start to this vacation! Except we didn't get to see it and we are always at that particular race every year, except this one. Ah well, we were headed for Cancun, so I was OK with it. The time dragged on until it was finally time to board. We took our seats, I said my prayer and off we went. It was an uneventful flight until we smelled smoke. The pilot came on and said that what we were smelling was smoke and it was coming from fire coming up from the left. Then he stopped. Just as I was about to start screaming, he came back on and said, from the forest, there are severe Jungle fires in Cancun right now. Whew, crisis averted. We were not going down into the Mexican jungle in flames after all. Thank god!

We landed, went through customs and got a $40 taxi to the hotel. We arrived exactly at 3pm, which is check in time, so I checked us in, we went to our room, changed into our bathing suites and went straight to the snack bar for a hot dog and some fries and some icy cold alcoholic beverages. We drank for a while, as we looked around, then we had dinner, drank some more and were in bed around 10.

Everyday we would wake up, take showers, get ready for the sun, eat breakfast then spend the rest of the day for the most part at the pool. We went down to the beach and got in the oh so blue ocean and got tons of sea shells for Budboy. We ate and ate like there was no tomorrow. And we drank some to. I rediscovered my love of the margerita, and Budman realized he liked them too. Beer didn't stay cold long so you had to drink it really fast or get a frozen drink that stayed colder longer.

Friday night we were able to watch the Busch race, but it was in spanish, but they didn't show the cup race Saturday night which was stupid.

All in all we had a very relaxing time, I missed my kids so bad it ached and I don't ever want to be away from them that long again, but we needed it.

I am very tan and hopefully I didn't gain too much weight, I guess I'll find out Thursday at my WW meeting.

About the resort. There were 4 restaurants and countless bars. The food was good in all of them, we didn't try one. It was the asian one, and we didn't feel like having it, so we didn't go. We ate at the buffet just about every night and it was really good. However, there were more single guys there then I have ever seen in one place before in my life. I would say that 98% of the people there were single guys looking to get some. Also, we were just about the only Americans there. Most everyone else was from Europe. I have to say that the people we saw and encountered there from France were a bunch of assholes, all of them. They were extremely rude. I trying not to generalize here, but all the ones there, suck. Budman and I had to change rooms one night because the AC didn't work where we were. So when we were going to the new room, there was a group of french girls, that I can only assume were just arriving and they were standing the the middle of the hallway. Budman and I were walking right towards them with all our stuff and they were facing us. When we got to them they acted as if we weren't really there. Budman said "Excuse me" and they just stood there, looking at us and not moving. So he said it again and they moved, but only slightly. I ran over one of the girl's foot with my suite case. I guess she got mad and was saying something in french and pointing to me. I kept going and turned around and they were still looking at me so I smiled and waved. Bitches!!

Well, anyway, I have gone on for a long time and if you have made it this far, thanks and pictures tomorrow!!
